Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds Soul gospel Jazz and R&B in a signature mix. She's performed on Broadway and during the Democratic National Convention and in clubs and festivals throughout Europe. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta however, she comes in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals, Stalk You a House 12, was only released in Japan. The song has been remixed many times, and it is a mainstay of her live show. Her voice has also been a part of vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) was approached for a position as choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention during four daily performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
